About Devils Lake

 

Devils Lake, ND, with a population of +7,000, is located in the northeast quadrant of the state on U.S. Highway 2 about 80 miles south of the Canadian border and 95 miles west of the Minnesota border. Home to a +250 square mile lake of the same name, Devils Lake has some of the best fishing in the nation for both amateur and professional anglers. Northern pike, walleye, muskies, bluegills, perch and white bass are plentiful during both summer and winter seasons enticing thousands of anglers to participate in national tournaments throughout the summer. The Lake Region is considered a top waterfowl hunting area in the Midwest. The area surrounding Devils Lake is a popular habitat for hunting white-tail deer in the fall. Camp Grafton, home to the North Dakota Army National Guard, hosts soldiers from throughout the United States for year-round training. One of the best preserved military forts (Fort Totten) in the Trans-Mississippi West is located nearby. Lake Region State College is home to approximately 2,000 students. The Devils Run Car Show/Rod Run and a Motorcycle Rally are held each summer and the Devils Lake Volunteer Fire Department Ice Fishing Tournament is a winter event you won't want to miss. Camping, boating, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, golfing, and gambling at Spirit Lake Casino are also popular activities in this area. Other enjoyable attractions include the Sullys Hill National Game Preserve and Fort Totten Days. The best part of such travel adventures is being only a flight away! At the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Highway 19, drive 1.5 miles west on Highway 19. The Devils Lake Regional Airport Terminal is on the north side of Highway 19.North, South, East, West

The Devils Lake Regional Airport Authority meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at the ARFF building at the airport.
